Uhm what. Gandalf was totally surprised by that. They didn’t even know the place was overrun by Orcs. They still thought that the Dwarves were in there. Gandalf didn’t even know shit was going to go down until he read that book that was left behind. At least he stayed and protected everyone and fought the damn thing.

Critiquing the series without actually knowing it is really stupid of you.

Umm. actually, Gandalf did know about the Balrog a head of time (it says so in Saruman’s voice over narration in the film). It was also the reason he didn’t want to go underground in the first place and wanted to continue through the mountains. He didn’t know about what happened with the dwarves and goblins though. By the way, those were not Orcs they were Goblins inside of Moria. You were right they didn’t know about Moria being overrun but he knew about the Balrog and didn’t want to go in the first place but left it up to Frodo. They had no other way unless they passed through the Gap of Rohan. But that would have taken them too close to Isengard. It wasn’t until after they entered Moria and saw the dozens of corpses that it clicked something was seriously wrong. However, the Watcher in the Water kind of cut off their exit point so they had no choice but to go forward. Gandalf suspected something bad, besides the Balrog, was still lurking in Moria. When they found the book in the tomb that is when they all learned what exactly happened to the Dwarves. Ultimately, Gandalf KNEW about the Balrog. They all KNEW something was utterly wrong when they entered Moria but had no choice but to go through. He probably should have warned them about the Balrog. Yes, he stayed and fought it cause otherwise they probably would not have made it. ~~Now I may have left out some details and I went based on movie only since that what this is about. I’m not saying what i have is flawless.~~

Okay. So, like I said, I normally would just blow off something like this. But the post ended quite rudely with, “Critiquing the series without knowing it is really stupid of you.”

A few important points to consider:

I literally have at least 70% of this movie memorized. I’m a hardcore Ringer. Don’t accuse me of not knowing what I clearly know.

This is a liveblog. Where I can critique whatever I want. You have no say in it.

Do not refer to what I do as “stupid” when you are obviously the one lacking in the Lord of the Rings knowledge, here.

I made this response post simply because of the comment that your reblog ended with. Yes, what I’ve said is bitchy and snarky, but what you said was unwarranted, uncalled for, and actually, well, wrong.

For future references, my lovely followers, I’m not a bitch as this post might suggest. Also, I will be liveblogging movies at some point that I haven’t seen before. Feel free to explain the things I don’t understand or misinterpret! But please do it kindly as opposed to saying that things are “stupid of me.” Because that is honestly just rude.
